Everyone must join forces against terror

The world has been living side by side with terror for hundreds of years. Even though actions may differ from country to country, all terrorist organizations aim at defenseless civilians and send their messages by way of these people. In the terrorist attack in Oklahoma in the USA 167 people were savagely slaughtered, 19 of them children. A fanatical Jew who opened a hail of fire on Muslims praying in a mosque in Palestine caused the deaths of 29 people. Thousands of people have lost their lives in attacks against Muslims in India over the years.

Terrorist attacks both great and small have for years been perpetrated in France, Spain, the Philippines, Japan and Ireland.

 

One could go on. However, the entire world came face to face with terror in 2001. In the wake of the attacks against two major cities in the USA which led to the deaths and injuries of thousands of people, the concept of “terrorism” began to be debated once again. That was because that attack had been carried out at an unexpected time, against a country regarded as the world’s only superpower, and in a totally unforeseen manner. The attack created an air of fear and panic all over the world, especially in America.

 

Following the attacks, the USA embarked on a major fight against terror. Many countries have lined up alongside America in this struggle, and lent their support to it. The series of bombings in Istanbul, just when it was thought that the forces of terror had been brought under control, again reminded people of terrorism’s dark face: first synagogues, then the British Consulate, then the HSBC General Directorate building …

 

The Saturday prayer, which had been performed for centuries, was interrupted by the bombs exploded on November 15th. Twenty-four people were killed in the explosions at the Neva Shalom synagogue at Beyoglu Kuledibi and the Beth Israel synagogue at Sisli, and 300 were injured. Dozens of more people lost their lives in the explosions at the British Consulate and the HSBC building, and hundreds were injured. Images similar to those which followed the September 11 attacks began appearing on our television screens. Ruined buildings, people fleeing in panic, burned out busses, corpses lying in the streets …

 

The point we wish to emphasize in this article is the Islamic perspective on terror attacks and the killing of the innocent. All forms of terrorist attack are roundly condemned in Islam. According to the Qur'an, it is a great sin to kill an innocent person, and anyone who does so will suffer great torment in the Hereafter:

… If someone kills another person—unless it is in retaliation for someone else or for causing corruption in the earth—it is as if he had murdered all mankind. And if anyone gives life to another person, it is as if he had given life to all mankind. Our Messengers came to them with Clear Signs, but even after that, many of them committed outrages in the earth.(Qur’an, 5:32)

This verse equals the killing of one innocent to slaughtering all of humanity! Another verse expresses the importance that the faithful attach to life:

Those who do not appeal to any other deity besides God [alone]; nor kill any soul whom God has forbidden [them to] except with the right to do so; nor fornicate. Anyone who does so will incur a penalty. (Qur’an, 25:68)

In yet another verse, God issues the following commandment:

Say: "Come, and I will recite to you what your Lord has forbidden for you": that you do not associate anything with Him; that you are good to your parents; that you do not kill your children because of poverty—We will provide for you and them; that you do not approach indecency—outward or inward; that you do not kill any person God has made inviolate—except with the right to do so. That is what He instructs you to do, so that hopefully, you will use your intellect. (Qur’an, 6:151)

Any Muslim who believes in God with a sincere heart, who scrupulously abides by His verses and fears suffering in the Hereafter, will avoid harming even one other person. He knows that the Lord of Infinite Justice will suitably reward him for all his deeds. In one of the hadiths, our Prophet (may God bless him and grant him peace) listed the kinds of people who are not pleasing to God:

"Those who act cruelly and unjustly in the sacred lands, those who yearn for the ways of the ignorant, and those who wrongly shed human blood." (Sahih Bukhari Hadith)

Another element we wish to concentrate on is the attack on devout Turkish Jews worshipping in their synagogues. Churches, synagogues and mosques are houses for the worship of God. It is a terrible crime in the sight of God to slaughter innocent people as they worship in their churches, synagogues or mosques. These are houses where the name of God is remembered, praised and recited. In the Qur’an, , God reveals that:

… God guides to His Light whoever He wills and God makes metaphors for mankind and God has knowledge of all things. In houses which God has permitted to be built and in which His name is remembered, there are men who proclaim His glory morning and evening. (Qur’an, 24:35-36)

The people who go to those places are devout, prayerful people. All houses where the name of God is remembered are sacred in the eyes of Islam. Visitors to these houses may be Jews, Christians or Muslims. The important thing is that each one is a devout believer in God. A Muslim must respect and protect the holy places where the People of the Book worship God, and protect them. For Muslims, these places are precious because in these places, people, whether Jews or Christians, remember God. In the Qur'an, the places of worship of the People of the Book, ie. monasteries, churches and synagogues, are mentioned as places of worship protected by God.

…[I]f God had not driven some people back by means of others, monasteries, churches, synagogues and mosques, where God's name is mentioned much, would have been pulled down and destroyed. God will certainly help those who help Him—God is All-Strong, Almighty. (Qur'an, 22:40)

As a manifestation of his loyalty to God's commands, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was most careful not to destroy the holy places of the People of the Book. Such destruction means, in the first place, opposing God's commands. This aside, it means preventing people who have faith in God worshipping Him. Indeed, the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) promised the Christians, who were the other party to a peace agreement he made, that their churches would not be destroyed and that they would never be harmed. The tax (Jizya) agreements he made with Christians also guaranteed the safety of churches.

 

The first agreement made after the death of the Prophet (pbuh) that guaranteed the protection of the temples was a tax agreement Khalid bin al-Waleed signed with the leader of the city of Anat. Ibn Ishaq stated that those agreements made by Khalid bin al-Waleed were also approved by Abu Bakr and the three caliphs following him. This aside, Abu Bakr offered the same guarantees that had been offered to the people of Najran by the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

 

The Islamic societies that abided by Islamic morality after the death of the Prophet (pbuh) also paid special attention to this issue. Muslim leaders who adhered to the Qur'an and the Sunnah (the sayings and doings of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)) respected the places of worship of non-Muslims in conquered countries and showed great tolerance to the clergy.

 

Terror Will Disappear When People Come to Live by the Moral Values of Islam

 

In the Qur'an (32:9), God reveals that He has breathed His Spirit into man, His creation, and that man is His representative on Earth (Qur'an, 6:165). One of the most important differences between man and the animals is that man was created with both earthly desires and with a conscience. Every person possesses desires that incite him to evil, along with a conscience that inspires him to avoid it. Alongside such pleasing attributes inspired by that conscience-love, sacrifice, compassion, humility, affection, honesty, loyalty and kindness-he also possesses destructive and undesirable tendencies, stemming from his earthly desires. Thanks to his conscience, however, the believer can distinguish between right and wrong and opt for what is morally right. Strong belief in and fear of God, faith in the Hereafter, powerful fear of the endless torments of Hell and a yearning for Paradise all keep the temptations of his earthly desires at bay. Therefore, he always behaves well towards people, is forgiving, responds to wickedness with good, assists those in need, and shows compassion, love, affection and tolerance.

 

Terrorists, on the other hand, listen to their earthly desire for violence instead of their consciences, and can easily turn to all forms of wickedness. They become loveless, aggressive people who easily hurt others without the slightest pang of conscience. Having no fear of God, they do not know the morality of religion, nor do they practice it. Nothing can stop them from committing crimes.

 

In restraining its citizens, society's prevailing rules can go only so far. Thanks to its law enforcement units, the state may be able to partially protect streets and public spaces, and-thanks to a powerful system of justice-may be able to take necessary means to ensure public order and ensure that the crime rate drops. But since it's impossible to keep watch on every individual, 24 hours a day, it's essential that peoples' consciences enter the equation at some stage. Someone who doesn't heed the voice of his conscience can easily turn to crime when on his own, or surrounded by people of like mind. That being the case, a model of society emerges which is composed of individuals who lie when necessary, have no hesitation about making unjust profits, and feel no unease about oppressing the weak. It is clear that physical precautions and measures will bear no fruit in a society which has no fear of God and which has lost its spiritual values. Religious moral values, on the other hand, command a person to refrain from evil, even if he is all alone, even if nobody will punish him for his evil deeds. It is evident that a person who knows that he will be called to account in the presence of God for his every deed, his every decision and his every word, and that he will be suitably rewarded for these in the eternal life of the Hereafter, will scrupulously avoid committing evil.

 

Terrorist organizations can't possibly have any place in a society whose people avoid evil of their own free will. Where religion's morality prevails, problems that give rise to organizations supporting the use of violence will disappear naturally. If the whole society possesses superior virtues like honesty, sacrifice, love and justice, there can be no place for such things as poverty, unequal distribution of income, injustice, the oppression of the weak, or limitations on freedoms. On the contrary, a social order will emerge that meets the wants of the needy; where the wealthy protect the poor and the strong, the weak; where everyone can enjoy the very best health care, education, and transport systems. There, tolerance and understanding will dominate the relationships between different ethnic groups, religions and cultures.

 

For these reasons, proper morality is the key to solving so many social problems. The source of that key, in turn, is the Qur'an, which God has revealed as a guide for mankind.

 

It must not be forgotten that unless necessary measures are taken, unless deep-rooted solutions are brought in, the 21st century will continue to be a time of terror and violence, just as the 20th was before it. The homes of innocent people will be bombed, and women and children will be slaughtered. The ideological fight against terrorism, therefore, must be started with great urgency, to include very great numbers of people.

This fight will be fought on the level of ideas-between people who believe in God, who are loving, forgiving, compassionate and in full possession of their conscience; and those who draw their strength from ignorance and violence. In one verse, our Lord reveals, "Why were there not people with good sense among the generations of those who came before you, who forbade corruption in the earth…" (Qur'an, 11:116). Believers should possess the virtue that God describes in that verse. While terrorists hope to achieve their aims by violence, believers know that true success can be achieved only by clinging tightly to the religion of God, and acting accordingly. Jews, Christians, and Muslims will join together in that struggle, in a spirit of respect for all beliefs and ideas and, by the will of God, enjoy definitive success. This is God's promise to all His believing servants, which will definitely come true.

 

At this point, a great responsibility falls on all true believers, no matter what their religion. Jews must not ignore Old Testament statements calling mankind to peace and tolerance, and they must call on all other Jews to oppose terrorism. So should Christians call on all other Christians, taking as their guide the morality most pleasing to God. One should not forget that terrorism stems from wrong ideas and the basic struggle against terrorism should be on the level of ideas. Believers must explain that these ideas are wrong, and that no idea can prevail by means of violence, oppression and cruelty; and despotism can never bring about beauty.

 

Terrorist ideology is built on sand. Its foundations can easily be swept away by mobilizing a proper education campaign. Sincere believers in all parts of the world can help end the ignorance that breeds terrorism by searching for solutions, writing books and articles, promoting educational activities and disseminating their own cultural heritage. The prevalence of tolerance, peace and security on the Earth, as commanded by God, will make terrorism disappear into the pages of history forever. Adopting a defeatist, pessimistic attitude in the face of terror is unacceptable. Our hope is that this suffering will not be repeated, and that all measures will be adopted to that end.

Finding the real source of terror

Especially for the last 20 years, there is a concept called "Islamic terror" on the agenda of the Western world. The terrorist attacks, which were organized against the two big cities of the United States of America on September 11, 2001 and resulted in the death of tens of thousands of innocent people, brought this concept to the world agenda once more.

As Muslims, we strongly condemn these attacks and we offer our condolences to the American nation. This article explains that the source of the violence that we condemn is definitely not Islam.

A point that needs to be primarily indicated is that it is not clear who carries out this act. This felonious attack can be the act of very different focus groups. It could be a communist organization that hates American values or a fascist one that protests against federal administration. It could be the result of a hidden fraction in other countries. Even if the terrorists who hijacked the planes carry Muslim names, the question of who used them for what purpose will continue to remain a mystery.

Even if terrorists have Muslim names and identities, the murders they perpetrate cannot be labelled "Islamic terror", just as it could not be called "Jewish terror" if the perpetrators were Jews or "Christian terror" if they were Christians. That is because murdering innocent people in the name of a Divine religion is impossible. Unless forgiven by Allah, murdering innocent people is a great sin that brings endless torment in Hell. A person who believes in religion and has fear of Allah cannot do something like this.

The perpetrators can commit such violence only with the intention of attacking religion itself. It may well be that those who carry out such violence do so to present religion as evil in the eyes of people and to generate hatred and reaction towards the religious. Consequently, every attack on innocent people having a "religious" facade is actually an attack made against religion.

Religion commands love, mercy and peace. Terror, on the other hand, is the opposite of religion; it is cruel, merciless and demands bloodshed, murder and misery. This being the case, the origins of a terrorist act should be sought in disbelief rather than in religiousness. The origins should be sought in fascist, communist, racist or materialist outlook on life. The name or the identity of the triggerman is not important. If he can kill innocent people without blinking an eye, then he is an unbeliever, not a believer. He is a murderer with no fear of Allah, whose main ambition is to shed blood and to cause harm. For this reason, "Islamic terror" is an erroneous concept which contradicts Islam's message. The religion of Islam by no means countenances terror. On the contrary, terror (i.e. murders committed against innocent people) in Islam is a great crime and Muslims are responsible for preventing these acts and bringing peace and justice to the world.

Command of war in the Qur'an

According to the Qur'an, war is a last resort and an "undesired necessity" to be waged within specific humanitarian and moral bounds. One verse describes how it is deniers of Allah who instigate the wars in the world, and that war is not pleasing to Allah:

"... Each time they kindle the fire of war, Allah extinguishes it. They rush about the earth corrupting it. Allah does not love corrupters." (Surat al-Ma'ida, 64)

When we look at the life of the Prophet Muhammad (saas), we see that war was resorted to only when unavoidable and for defensive purposes alone.

The revelation of the Qur'an to the Prophet (saas) took 23 years. During the first 13 years, Muslims lived as a minority in the pagan order in Mecca, and were subjected to severe oppression. Many Muslims suffered physical torture, some were killed, most had their goods and homes plundered, and they were subjected to constant insults and threats. Nonetheless, Muslims continued to live without resorting to violence and always called on the pagans to live in peace.

Eventually, when the oppression inflicted by the pagans became unbearable, the Muslims migrated to the city of Yathrib (later Medina), where they encountered a freer and friendlier climate and where they established their own administration. Even after setting up their own political structure, they still did not resort to arms against the aggressive pagans of Mecca. Only after the revelation of the following verse did the Prophet (saas) command his community to ready themselves for war:

"Permission to fight is given to those who are fought against because they have been wronged—truly Allah has the power to come to their support—those who were expelled from their homes without any right, merely for saying, 'Our Lord is Allah'… " (Surat al-Hajj, 39-40)

In short, Allah gave the Muslims permission to wage war because they had suffered oppression and cruelty. To put it another way, the war permitted to them was for defensive purposes only. In other verses, Muslims were warned to avoid unnecessary provocation or the use of unnecessary violence:

"Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight you, but do not go beyond the limits. Allah does not love those who go beyond the limits." (Surat al-Baqara, 190)

Following the revelation of these verses, wars between the Muslims and the pagan Arabs took place. None of these wars were provoked by the Muslims. Moreover, the Prophet (saas) established a climate of peace and security and a social structure in which they could live in peace with the pagans by concluding a peace treaty, namely the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, in which many of the pagans' demands were accepted. It was the pagans who broke this treaty, at which a new war broke out. Due to the rapid rise in the number of Muslims, the Islamic army achieved a strength that the pagan Arabs were unable to withstand, and the Prophet (saas) advanced on Mecca with that powerful force and duly captured it. No blood was shed in the course of that conquest, and not a single nose was caused to bleed. Impressed by this elevated character of his, the pagans later turned to Islam of their own free will.

This peaceable and moderate policy of the Prophet Muhammad's (saas) stemmed from the essence of Islam as revealed by Allah in the Qur'an. In the Qur'an, Allah commands believers to treat non-Muslims well:

"Allah does not forbid you from being good to those who have not fought you in the religion or driven you from your homes, or from being just towards them. Allah loves those who are just. Allah merely forbids you from taking as friends those who have fought you in the religion and driven you from your homes and who supported your expulsion…" (Surat al-Mumtahana, 8-9)

The verses above clarify the approach of Muslims to non-Muslims: A Muslim should treat all non-Muslims kindly and only avoid making friends with those who show enmity towards Islam. In a case where this enmity causes violent attacks against Muslim existence, which becomes a cause of war, then Muslims should wage this war justly by considering the humane dimensions of the situation.

The Meaning of the Concept of Jihad in the Qur'an:

Another relevant concept essential to be shed light on is that of "jihad."
The word actually means "struggling." In other words, according to Islam, waging jihad means "endeavoring or making great efforts." The Prophet (saas) has informed us that the greatest jihad is the one waged against one's own lower self. The lower self implies one's selfish passions and greed. An intellectual struggle against anti-religious and atheistic ideas is also definitely a jihad.

Beside such intellectual and moral meanings, war as a physical struggle is also a "jihad". However, this war has to be for defense purposes or a limited one as we have described above. The concept of jihad to be used to define an act of violence against innocent people, meaning terror, is a very big and unjust distortion.

To sum up the facts we have seen so far, the "political doctrine" of Islam (in other words, Islamic rules and principles regarding political matters) is exceedingly moderate and  peace loving. This truth is also accepted by many non-Muslim historians and theologians. One of these is the British historian Karen Armstrong, a former nun and an expert on Middle East history. In her book Holy War, she makes the following comments on the subject:

... The word 'Islam' comes from the same Arabic root as the word 'peace' and the Koran condemns war as an abnormal state of affairs opposed to God's will… Islam does not justify a total aggressive war of extermination… Islam recognises that war is inevitable and sometimes a positive duty in order to end oppression and suffering.The Koran teaches that war must be limited and be conducted in as humane a way as possible... When Mohammad sent his freedman Zaid against the Christians at the head of a Muslim army, he told them to fight in the cause of God bravely but humanely. They must not molest priests, monks and nuns nor the weak and helpless people who were unable to fight. There must be no massacre of civilians nor should they cut down a single tree nor pull down any building. (Karen Armstrong, Holy War, MacMillan London Limited, 1988, p. 25)

Following the death of the Prophet (saas) Muslims continued to display exceptional tolerance and respect towards members of other faiths. Both Christians and Jews lived securely and freely in Islamic states. Muslims have never been mischief-makers in history; on the contrary they have brought security and peace to people of every nationality and faith wherever they go to. In short, the basis of Qur'anic morality is to establish tolerance, peace and mercy and Islam aims to clear the world of mischief.  The commands of the Qur'an and enforcement of these by Muslims throughout history is peremptorily loud and clear. In a statement about their fight against terror, U.S. President Obama said: “Our fight is not against Islam, but against al-Qaeda and the Taliban.” He then went on to say that some extremists think that “the West can never be reconciled with Islam” and that they regard violence as justified. “However, America is not at war with Islam; this ideology and terrorist attacks are rejected by the majority of Muslims,” he said.

ADNAN OKTAR: Now, they are not wrong, of course. Various things have gone wrong. The expressions in some classic works are terrifying. According to what these works say, anyone who shaves every week should be killed. That is written explicitly, so why do you deny it? People who do not pray are to be killed according to three of the sects. In the fourth sect they are to be beaten till the blood flows. Until the person goes into a coma, in other words: Then if he still persists in not praying he is to be killed.

If someone who believes in these expressions then says, ‘Islam is a religion of love,’ people will not believe him because you do not practice what you preach. Allah says, “There is no compulsion in religion.” The other wide make things up and say, ‘I will beat you to death with sticks. I will make you pray.” Yet Allah says, “There is no compulsion in religion.” Do you not believe what Allah says. “I do not believe, and I have found these things for myself,” these people say. “I have discovered this idea of beating you until you pray” they say.

This contravenes the Qur’an and Islam but they ignore this. These fabricated hadiths say, ‘When you see a Christian, you must force him into a corner.’ Treat him with contempt, in other words. In their eyes, what must we do if we realize that someone walking along is a Christian? We are meant to shoulder-barge him. So where is he expected to walk? “Force him to the edge of the road and humiliate him,” they say.

Why do you deny it? That is what you think. You have added things to Allah’s religion. What are you trying to turn our luminous Islam into? Then they say, ‘Islam is a religion of peace.’ But nobody will believe them. Of course Islam is a religion of peace. But is what you describe, filled with nonsense, a religion of peace? What you describe is savagery. You talk of savagery. You do not speak of the religion of the Qur’an. You have established a fabricated faith. You then add provisions from your own head that you say are Islam. You should espouse the pure Islam based on the Qur’an. You should scrupulously abide by Allah’s commands. But if something does not suit them, may Allah forbid, they say, ‘No, Allah has revoked this.’ You have lost your senses. How can a verse of the Qur’an cease to apply? The Qur’an is valid until the Day of Reckoning.

It is a grave danger for our Christian brothers to confuse bigotry with true Islam

A model of Muslim that incites wars in the name of Islam and that encourages killing and bloodshed leads some Christians and Jews to form an incorrect opinion regarding Islam. They imagine that the BIGOTED mindset that emerges in the name of Islam is true Islam. They do not know that this bloodthirsty system has nothing to do with the real Islam and is even a lifestyle diametrically opposed to it.

Some people imagine that various types who appear to be Muslims but who carry out actions that have no place in Islam and live within a mindset that totally conflicts with the spirit of the Qur’an are genuine representatives of Islam. As a result of that erroneous opinion, some of our Christian brothers in particular strongly oppose Islam and Muslims, regard them as a grave threat and prepare to fight against them. They attempt to equate the bloodthirstiness, enmity, cruelty, lovelessness, ruthlessness, lack of conscience and lack of affection they see in such people with the Qur’an. The fact is, however, that those who espouse a bloodthirsty system have nothing to do with true Islam. They do that out of a nonsensical faith they invent out of their own ignorance. Otherwise, there is no such mindset in the Qur’an. Our Lord describes people with a mindset that espouses bigotry, seeks to mix religion with nonsense and make it impossible to live by and to deceive people in the name of Allah as follows in the Qur’an:

Among them is a group who distort the Book with their tongues so that you think it is from the Book when it is not from the Book. They say, ‘It is from Allah,’ but it is not from Allah. They tell a lie against Allah and they know it. (Surah Al ‘Imran, 78)

True Islam is the Islam revealed by Allah in the Qur’an and manifested by our Prophet (saas). In other words, Muslims have a responsibility to live by the Qur’an and the Sunnah of our Prophet (saas), not by the nonsense and invented interpretations of bigots. Their measure must be the Qur’an and the Sunnah, not nonsense. True Islam is the Islam of the Age of Felicity, in which people follow the Qur’an and the life of our Prophet (saas). The affectionate and loving, protective and noble life of our Prophet (saas), who attached great value to art, beauty, cleanliness and kindness is the most perfect role-model for Muslims. In the same way that examples not from the life of our Prophet (saas) are not esteemed by Muslims, so non-Muslims must not think of Islam in terms of the dark lifestyles of certain bigots.

On this subject, our Christian brothers need to bear in mind the following statements:

The bigoted mindset is as hostile toward Muslims as it is toward Christians and Jews

This sinister mindset people try to ascribe to Islam is BIGOTRY, not real Islam at all. The bigot claims to act in the name of Islam. But he is loveless, with a dark soul, fanatical and without understanding. He is the enemy of all beauty, art and science. He is even the inimical to life itself; and to joy and happiness.

The bigot regards all kinds of beauty with hatred. He hates flowers, and children, and cats, and dogs and rabbits. His spirit and soul are empty. As revealed in one verse of the Qur’an, such people are, “like propped-up planks of wood” (Surat al-Munafiqun, 4). There is nothing even resembling love in their souls. They attach no value to human beings and no importance to any living thing. There is no room for consideration, love or compassion in their hearts.

As a result of all this, the bigot also hates women. One of the main features of bigots is their enmity toward womankind. Treating woman as third-class citizens is a fundamental characteristic of the bigot. Communists, Darwinists and those who to date have regarded Islam with a hostile eye have made verbal assaults against Islam, accusing it of a supposed hatred of women. But this enmity toward women that they oppose is a characteristic of fanatical and backward bigots, not of Islam, which attaches the greatest value to women and praises and protects them. In the same way that the bigot loves nobody, so nobody loves him. Everyone detests the presence, logic, lifestyle and way of thinking of the bigot. Even bigots detest bigots. That is why there is constant division and rancor among them. They can never live in peace and happiness together. Like their souls, their lives are in utter darkness.

The bigot may be found in all faiths and sections of society. There are people in Christian and Jewish communities, as well, not just among Muslims, who seek to turn religion away from its true essence, and to inflict a dark and bloodthirsty state of mind instead of the joy and love bestowed by faith in Allah. What we are discussing here is people who try to infiltrate themselves among Muslims. But the fact is that the bigot represents a polluted and perverse idea, no matter from what faith or section of society he comes from.

As a result of this frightening state of mind, the bigot desires bloodshed. He wants bloodshed everywhere. He can only find peace with blood and oppression. He can only express the hatred within him by causing blood to be shed and speaking with hostility. These people, who espouse bloodshed in the name of Islam, spread hatred of and rancor toward Christians, Jews and even Muslims, and who drip hatred and loathing from their lips, are very definitely NOT MUSLIMS, but bigots under the influence of the way of the antichrist.

For these reasons, our Christian brothers must properly distinguish between genuine Muslims and bigots, between true Islam and the bigoted mindset. Only then will they be able to see that the lifestyle they are opposed to is bigotry, not Islam.

Bigots are the army of the antichrist; they neither apply the Qur’an, nor let others apply it.

Backwardness, fanaticism and bigotry IS THE GREATEST ARMY OF THE ANTICHRIST OPPOSED TO ISLAM. Our Prophet Muhammad (saas) reveals this in a hadith:

”Seventy thousand scholars from my community, all wearing turbans, will follow the dajjal [antichrist].” (Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, Musnad, p. 796)

In referring to the people who will follow the antichrist in the hadith, our Prophet (saas) speaks in particular of THOSE WHO EMERGE FROM WITHIN THE UMMAH (COMMUNITY) OF ISLAM AND REGARD THEMSELVES AS SCHOLARS. Through this hadith, our Prophet (saas) indicates that it is bigots who are the main group who, as supporters of the antichrist, will act against all the friends of Allah and do the worst damage to religion.

In another hadith our Prophet (saas) says:

“People will spring up in the End Times: but their brains will not function. They will speak fine words when they. The will read the Qur’an, but their faith will go no further than their throats...” (Buhari, 3611, 5057, 6930, Muslim, 1066, Abu Dawud  4767, Ahmed ibn Hanbal, Musnad 1, 81, 113, 131, 289; Al-Tayalisi, al-Musnad, no. 1984.)

As set out in the hadith, these people will speak very finely and read the Qur’an; but ‘their faith will go no further than their throats.’ In other words, they will not base themselves on the Qur’an. These people will speak of the Qur’an but will not be devoted to it and will rule by mixing nonsense up with it. They will regard the provisions of the Qur’an as inadequate and will implement a faith they invent themselves under the name of Islam. There, a significant proportion of the army of the antichrist will emerge from every religion, and they will constitute bigots who seek to damage their own faiths and the world.

Bigots’ aim is to stop people applying the Qur’an. In adding things to Islam that have nothing to do with it, they reject those parts of the Qur’an that are incompatible with their own foolish ideas. For them, it is a cause for tremendous rage the way that the Qur’an recommends love, peace, affection, brotherhood and unity and encourages beauty, art and science. The quality and depth of soul resulting from living by the moral values of the Qur’an, a Muslim model that is rational, esthetic, modern and full of love, is incompatible with their own nonsensical religions. That is why the antichrist uses bigotry and fanaticism to strike at Islam and seek to do away with it.

This point now needs to be made clear; there may be honest people who genuinely love Allah but who espouse ideas that actually have no place in true Islam, either from lack of knowledge or inaccurate education. We need to differentiate between these people and bigots who deliberately try to add nonsense to religion. The former are people who will accept the truth once they have been enlightened by the luminosity of the Qur’an. Almighty Allah is He Who always shows His genuine servants the true path.
 

The Qur’an has declared war on bigotry

THE QUR’AN HAS DECLARED WAR ON ALL SCOURGES RESULTING FROM BIGOTRY, ON UNHAPPINESS, OPPRESSION, LOVELESSNESS, FANATICISM, ANGER AND BLOODSHED. The Islam based on the Qur’an IS THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF BIGOTRY. Islam teaches peace, love and friendship. It encourages unity, the praising of the name of Allah all together, brotherhood and world peace and security. People who ignore the verses of the Qur’an and others who distort the verses in the light of their own foolish minds and purport to use them as evidence and thus claim that Islam encourages war, are making a serious error. As our Lord reveals in verse 25 of Surah Yunus, "Allah calls to the abode of peace." According to the Qur’an, active war is only permissible for defensive purposes. The condition is imposed that a Muslim can only wage war in the event of an attack, to defend his life. Our Prophet (saas) is the person who applied this in the clearest way. All three wars fought in the time of our Prophet (saas) were waged for defensive purposes, and forgiveness was always advised. During the Battle of the Trench, for example, our Prophet (saas) had a rampart erected to protect Muslims from attacks by the other side.

In the Qur’an, Almighty Allah makes war lawful for Muslims only under specific circumstances:

Fight in the Way of Allah against those who fight you, but do not go beyond the limits. Allah does not love those who go beyond the limits. (Surat al-Baqara, 190)

But if they cease [fighting], Allah is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Surat al-Baqara, 192)

In order for Muslims to go to war, the other side has to go on the offensive. War can never be resorted to in order to protect a cruel society that is aggressive and does not listen to reason. In such a case, Muslims have a duty not to go to extremes; in other words, they may only fight defensively. Moreover, according to Islam, no harm must befall women, children or the elderly. As our Lord reveals in verse 192 of Surat al-Baqara, Muslims are also advised to stop fighting once the other side does.

Again in the Qur’an, it is clearly stated that killing is a sin:

"...if someone kills another person – unless it is in retaliation for someone else or for causing corruption in the earth – it is as if he had murdered all mankind. And if anyone gives life to another person, it is as if he had given life to all mankind. Our Messengers came to them with Clear Signs but even after that many of them committed outrages in the earth.” (Surat al-Ma’ida, 32)

Those who do not call on any other god together with Allah and do not kill anyone Allah has made inviolate, except with the right to do so, and do not fornicate; anyone who does that will receive an evil punishment (Surat al-Furqan, 68)

As is clear from these verses, it is a sin in the Qur’an for a Muslim to kill. In Surat al-Ma’ida, Allah reveals that although the envoys He sent warned people of that sin, many of them still overstepped the bounds. In other words, although this is set out in the Qur’an, there are still people who find the Qur’an inadequate and go beyond proper bounds and engage in unjust oppression and bloodshed. These people are the fanatics and bigots who claim to act in the name of Islam but are in fact under the influence of the way of the antichrist.

Declaring war on Islam is not how to get rid of bigotry

Those who ascribe bigotry to Islam in an ill-informed manner and seek to eliminate that bigoted system generally fall into the error of adopting a hostile attitude toward Islam. Deliberate efforts have been made to spread the perspective toward Islam in question, especially by the atheist and Darwinist press, intellectual organizations and influential circles. These circles deliberately misrepresent Islam, engaging in incitement using conditioning techniques such as saying, “This is what Muslims are like, they will not let you live, so you had better annihilate them before they annihilate you.” They have been charged with doing this by various sinister forces. Under the influence of that conditioning, some Christians maintain that the Qur’an and Islam have to be eradicated if the oppressive and unjust system created by bigotry is to be done away with (Surely Islam and the Qur’an are beyond that). But this policy, a violation of reason and good conscience, merely leads to the feeding of bigotry and backwardness, contrary to expectations. Attacks on the Qur’an and true Islam further strengthen the bigoted system that espouses bloodshed and violence and desires lovelessness. This means being angered by the bigot but declaring war on Allah (Surely Allah is beyond that) and is an exceedingly foolish way of behaving. The way to eliminate bigots and the bloodthirsty system espoused by them is to emphasize the Qur’an and true Islam and bring about the Islamic Age of Felicity. Muslims living joyful, outward-looking lives based on love, affection, friendship and brotherhood and sharing a mindset that espouses democracy and freedom and is modern and progressive will burn bigots to dust. Therefore, our Christian brothers must support true Muslims against the bigoted mindset that is inimical to both Muslims and to Christians and Jews; they must encourage people to live by true Islamic moral values.

Combating bigotry is a religious observance for Muslims. Because opposing hypocrisy is one of the commandments of the Qur’an. ‘Bigot’ is another way of describing the ‘hypocrites’ referred to in the Qur’an. Almighty Allah refers to hypocrites, and unbelievers and those with sickness in their hearts, and they all ascribe equals to Him. They are the enemies of the Age of Felicity, THEY DECLARE WAR ON THE QUR’AN IN THE NAME OF THE QUR’AN. The perverse way of thinking that is loveless, devoid of compassion, uncultured and ill-educated, that dislikes art and science, that does not think deeply and seeks to make religion something complicated, a matter of showing-off, and that develops a religion constantly equated with prohibitions and inventions is ‘backwardness,’ in other words ‘polytheism.’ THE BIGOTED SYSTEM DEVELOPED IN TOTAL OPPOSITION TO THE QUR’AN, THAT REGARDS THE QUR’AN AS INADEQUATE AND APPLIES THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF THE COMMANDMENTS IN THE QUR’AN IS A PERVERSE SYSTEM THAT NEEDS TO BE CRUSHED BY MUSLIMS. For that reason, the most effective intellectual campaign against it comes from the Muslims of the Qur’an, in other words, from us.

The solution to bigotry comes from espousing the Islam of the Age of Felicity and the true moral values of the Qur’an. Hazrat Mahdi (as) will do that in our day. For that reason, it is most important that the way of the Mahdi be supported. The way of the Mahdi contains love, peace, brotherhood, security, peace and friendship. It contains joy, happiness, art and beauty. It means freedom, liberty and democracy. It is modern and progressive. It is terribly dangerous to support the bigoted system that represents a scourge on the whole world by attacking true Islam. The bigoted system that constitutes a threat to the three great faiths will come to an end only when the Qur’an is fully applied and the way of the Mahdi (as) is strengthened and supported. The Islam of the Qur’an will leave neither shamanists, nor atheists, nor satanists nor Darwinists behind. This is the sole and definitive solution.

Christians and Jews will also be at peace when people live by true Islamic moral values

It is very important for our Christian and Jewish brothers to interpret what we have described in reference to such concepts as love, peace, democracy, liberty, happiness and modernity as a “well-intentioned analysis.” These are not our personal opinions. THEY ARE FOUNDED IN THE QUR’AN. They are in agreement with the spirit of the Qur’an, all the examples we see in the Prophet Muhammed (saas) and the approval of Allah, the Rahman and Rahim. That is how the Qur’an was implemented in the time of our Prophet (saas). Bloodshed exists only in the nonsensical ideas of the bigots. Bigots controlled by the antichrist have depicted bloodshed as true Islam, misleading vast masses of people, and have sought to spread it across the world.

It is essential that our Christian brothers should see the true Qur’an and its great message. The Qur’an is a ray of light for anyone looking at it with good conscience. Everything that makes people happy and enlightens the world is in the Qur’an. Living by the Qur’an as people did in the Age of Felicity will bring total well-being and beauty to the world. For Muslims to apply the Qur’an in that way will be a source of peace, happiness and clam for Christians and Jews, as well. The young people that emerge as a result will enjoy exceedingly happy lives. The joy that is part of human nature but that has vanished under the influence of the system of the antichrist will return to society. Art will develop, and artists making real art will appear. The architecture that disappeared under the influence of the system of the antichrist will be restored to life. Because security, peace, happiness, friendship, brotherhood and, most important of all, love of Allah will spread widely. When love comes, art will come to everything, too, and beauty, joy, happiness and science. The perspective of the Islam of the Qur’an is founded upon affection, compassion, love, reason, consistency, behaving in a balanced way, thinking logically, looking at events in a positive manner, making sacrifices and seeing the best in everything. A world in which people apply Islam in that way will thus be one of extraordinary beauty for Christians and Muslims, too.

What Christians must oppose and wage an intellectual campaign against is bigotry, Darwinism and materialism, the foe of all three faiths. What they must support and espouse is people living by Islam as set out in the Qur’an and the way of the Mahdi that will bring that about in our day. When they support that, bigotry, fanaticism, backwardness, Darwinism and materialism will disappear, an air of festive rejoicing will enfold the world and everything and everywhere will be enlightened. When they support that, the corruption of bigotry will enjoy no success whatsoever. Churches and synagogues are under the protection of Almighty Allah, as revealed in verses of the Qur’an. Our Christian and Jewish brothers will worship as they please and attain the ease and beauty they desire. Muslims will live in a state of love and brotherhood with Christians and Muslims, wars will come to an end and the world will become a place of well-being, peace and security.

It would be very dangerous to have both irreligiousness and bigotry develop in Israel

There is a great danger of irreligiousness in Israel. Israel is very important to us. If they make Israel irreligious, the whole region would be in enormous trouble. There is great irreligiousness in Tel Aviv. The other day a young Jewish girl came here; a model. I said, “You are Jewish. I love Jewish people a lot.” She said to me, “Why do you say so? Does being Israeli automatically mean being Jewish?” I was very surprised to hear that. She said, “As the youth of Tel Aviv, we don't wish to be remembered as such. We don't want to be known as Jews. We are just Israelis.”

I was quite surprised. They have gone a long way. If you try to take religion away from Israel, they would try to take religion away from the Middle East. May Allah forbid. The religiousness of Israel was an example to the whole region. It was an example for Egypt. It set an example for Palestine. They have also become very religious.

What is important is that they believe in a single God, that they believe in the hereafter, Paradise, Hell and the angels of Allah. This is very important.

We can’t stand by while irreligiousness develop in Israel. Of course we will support the religious but we also don't want bigotry to develop in Israel as well.And that will happen with Mosiah (Hazrat Mahdi (as)). Europeans are right to be opposed to bigotry

One of the main obstacles to Turkey’s longstanding ambitions to join the European Union is the bigoted mindset that influences a particular segment of the Muslim world. However, a distinction needs to be made; Turkish people have a modern and democratic nature that proceeds down the path drawn by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of secular Turkey, and that is opposed to fundamentalist and backward ideas. Turks love modern life, make use of all the delights provided by art and science, and are exceedingly open-minded. It is therefore a serious mistake to think of and classify Turks as bigots.

Bigotry is an outdated philosophy of life that rejects the novelties bestowed by modern life and indoctrinates people with a dark and primitive lifestyle. Bigots are opposed to art, science, beauty and technology. All forms of pleasure, such as laughter, having fun, listening to music, singing, eating delicious food and drink and dressing well are unacceptable to them. It is, of course, out of the question to expect the EU to admit people with such a mindset and allow them to move around freely on European soil because Europeans value the very things that the bigots prohibit and they are delighted to make them part of their lives. And after all, it is these values that make them Europeans in the first place.

European nations attach great importance to science, beauty and art. Branches of art such as opera, dance, music, sculpture and painting are very popular in Europe. Almost all European cities have concert halls, art galleries, cultural and artistic centers, statues in public squares and paintings in different styles in homes and workplaces. In short, Europeans are very keen on, and delight in, all spheres of art.

According to the bigots, however, almost all branches of art are evil and must therefore be banned. They reject not just art, but almost all the beauties bestowed by modern life, so much so that they regard a great many customs and elements of life in European culture, such as using toothbrushes, sitting on chairs to eat, using perfume, ladies wearing make-up and dressing nicely and men wearing ties and shaving, as repellent and forbidden.

In fact, their fanatical outlook is not only hostile to Europe, but to the entire modern world; America or Japan, it makes no difference to them. Their outmoded and oppressive philosophy of life has made them loveless and twisted people, who have little to share with others, and with little social understanding. They live devoid of any kindness, charm or grace. They take no pleasure in most of the joys of this world.

They regard women as totally second-class citizens and put enormous pressure on them. They therefore attempt to make them cover themselves up as much as possible, even their faces. The real reason why they do this is that they regard women as agents of the devil. For that reason, they think that women must be constantly repressed. The bigot regards women as very dangerous beings that are always trying to lead men astray. The underlying reason for this is that they have no will-power of their own. Instead of enjoying the sight of an elegant and attractive lady, they stare at her in a wild and animalistic fashion and harass her. The underlying problem is that they simply do not know how to enjoy beauty; since they are ignorant of this, they never hesitate to regard everything outside their own nostrums as ugly and forbidden.

There are many sources of happiness and pleasure in life. People want to be joyful and to smile and have fun. Artistic activities, good food, pleasant conversation and everything that looks beautiful delight people and make them happy. It is pointless, irrational and illogical to ban such delights. A life devoid of art, beauty, songs, paintings or dance is colorless and depressing. People want to live in bright, well-maintained places where they can have fun, not in depressing ones. In the same way that civilized people attach importance to their own personal cleanliness, so they also want people around them to be clean and well-groomed. But the life proposed by the bigots is the exact opposite of that. They prefer to live in poorly maintained homes, wear dirty clothes, take no care about their personal hygiene, enjoy no social activities and dwell in an environment filled with other introverted types.

Of course this bigoted mindset has no place in the EU. It has no place among people anywhere who live in a civilized manner and enjoy doing so. However, Europeans must not fall into the error of thinking that the entire Muslim world is somehow monolithic. In Turkey, for example, most people live very civilized and modern lives. Most ladies do not cover their heads. There are any numbers of cinemas, concert halls, fine restaurants, museums of art and science and other such social spaces. Tens of thousands of tourists flock to Turkey every year and enjoy their holidays free of any such prohibitions. In other words, it is wrong to regard Turkey as a place full of bigots. Indeed, there are many Europeans who come here harboring prejudices, but who then come to realize that these are unfounded and end up liking Turkey a great deal.

To summarize, it is true that there are bigots in Turkey who sometimes raise their voices but the Turkish people in general are opposed to that perspective, and the number of people thinking along those lines is decreasing by the day. The bigoted mindset will lose all influence in Turkey, and even in the rest of the world, in the next five to ten years because when all is said and done, people will always choose to live with reason, logic, art, beauty and happiness.

Violence in any case equates with religion for a bigot. It means it is a requirement of religion. That is why the bigot mindset needs to be eliminated first. And in order for the bigot mindset to be eliminated, sects need to be done away with. People invent their own interpretations in these sects. They invent their own ideas. So the system of the Mahdi is essential. There is no alternative to the system of the Mahdi. The Islamic world will accept no pronouncements from any leader other than the Mahdi (pbuh). People need to be told of the erroneous nature of the references employed by bigots. You cannot free people by going out and burning books.

After the martyrdom of the companions of the Prophet, “Yes, our prophet (pbuh) gave you the good news of Gardens, which is true” said the bigots of that time to Hz. Ali (ra) “But you have changed” said they. They did not like his joy, his cheer, his love for women, his vivacity, and his humorousness. Scoundrels; they were wretched people, look at our beloved Hz. Ali (ra) and look at their treachery; they martyred him while he was performing prayers in the mosque.Bigots have always been trouble and dirt, always. When they get an opportunity, they try to cause trouble, do viciousness, behave cruelly towards Muslims, to do evil. They assume they do evil but they have ascended to the highest level when they martyred Hz. Ali (ra). Then they died as well. They went to hell. What happened? What did they earn? Hz. Ali (ra) is in the Gardens.

(An answer to the question, “How do you account for the fact that while our elders would not even stretch their feet out in the room containing the Holy Qur’an, yet you read the Qur’an when there are women who keep their heads uncovered when the Qur’an is read, even though our Prophet (pbuh) says, ‘speak to women from behind a veil’?)

Satan has played a trick to turn you away from the Qur’an and Allah under a guise of holiness, a trick that would amaze you. If you fall for that trap you will be very foolish indeed. What does that mean? Either you or the Qur’an will not be able to enter a house containing the Qur’an. And since you will enter it, the Qur’an will have to leave. Nonsense. They could not stretch their feet out in a house containing the Qur’an. So they could not lie down. So you would have to spend the whole night standing up. And since you could not sleep in that house, either you would have to leave it, or the Qur’an would. Look at satan’s trick. You can live in the best way of all in a house containing the Qur’an. The Qur’an is like bread, to be kept by the bed. “Is it right for the Qur’an to be read with people’s heads uncovered on your program?” So people whose heads are uncovered cannot listen to the Qur’an? What does that mean? Millions of people are listening to us now; 70%-80% of Turks do not cover their heads. So they would have to turn the TV off. So either we will not read the Qur’an, or else they will have to switch off. Both options are devilish and irrational. Both options serve satan. Do you see what satan does in order to turn people away from the Qur’an? How many roads has he blocked off? Do you see satan’s methods. He says, “.., I will lie in ambush for them on your straight path”. “When our Prophet (pbuh) spoke to women from behind a veil.” Do you not walk side by side with women on the hajj? Why are you lying? Why are you trying to alter Islam and the Qur’an? Why are you doing things that will cause satan to rejoice? That was limited to the wives of the Prophet (pbuh). Our mothers spoke from behind veils. Because Almighty Allah tells the wives of our Prophet (pbuh) “Do not be too soft-spoken in your speech lest someone with sickness in his heart becomes desirous.” They are our mothers. Of course this will anger us. We do not want anyone to look at our mothers out of the corners of their eyes. There are all kinds of people, and we cannot trust them all. Almighty Allah made things easier there, and our mothers spoke from behind veils. Because they were defamed and treated ignobly. They slandered my mother Ayisha (pbuh) and our other mothers. They acted dishonorably, and Almighty Allah acted accordingly. Allah says, “you are not like other women”.  What does that mean? The women of the Islamic community are different, the wives of the Prophet (pbuh) are different. Look, note this - you are not like other women”. What does that mean? The women of the Islamic community are different, their law is different, there is no need for them to speak from behind a veil. That refers to the wives of the Prophet (pbuh). Allah took that precaution at that time to stop people behaving wrongly, insha’Allah. The women of the Islamic community are all together on the hajj and on war. How can they be separate? Our Prophet (pbuh) loved women. And Almighty Allah told my beloved forebear, “After that no other women are lawful for you nor may you exchange them for other wives, even though their beauty might be pleasing to you.” Because our Prophet (pbuh) kept on marrying them. There was great demand. My forebear was very handsome and attractive. My beloved forbear and Prophet (pbuh) was so lovely women would fall in love with him at a glance. Almighty Allah took precautions when all women fell in love with him. But He said those he already had were not included in this. He excluded the concubines he already had. They say you can not lie down in your house. You put the Qur’an by your bedside. You must kiss and embrace it and live with it. How can you not stretch out? What a thing to say!. 

Look what Almighty Allah says in Surat an-Naml, 44: “To the Queen of Sheba; “She was told: ‘Enter the courtyard,’ but when she saw it she supposed it to be a pool...”” The Prophet Solomon (pbuh) was very sweet and lovely. He had it specially built to resemble a pool, it looked just like a pool as it reflected the light in waves. It looked like deep water. He invited Balqis the Queen of Sheba to enter the water. The woman bared her legs and prepared to enter the water. “She supposed it to be a pool.” Note that, not shallow water. And she bared her legs.  “He [Solomon] said, ‘It is a courtyard paved with glass’.” He said it was not a pool. “She said, ‘My Lord, I have wronged myself...” The Queen of Sheba said, “I have submitted with Solomon to the Lord of all the worlds.” She looks the Prophet Solomon (pbuh) in the eyes as she speaks, and the Prophet Solomon (pbuh) looks her in the eyes. He knows she will bare her legs, and he still tells her to enter the pool. You may tell me that is a very severe way of speaking. But I would never hurt a fly. My language may be harsh, but I have enormous love and compassion. I have fished many number of ants out of water. I cannot let them be harmed.

How can you be unaware that satan will engage in such trickery? How can you not see it? You cannot sleep in a house with the Qur’an in it! Nor stretch your feet out! Nor sit in a chair! So what is the answer? To get rid of the Qur’an. And that is totally wrong. How can you not see that? Satan has tricked you, the dajjal has tricked you. Can you not see that? Have your brains seized up? Has Allah taken away your senses? Or have you gone crazy? You cannot read the Qur’an because there will be women with their heads uncovered. Look at that mentality! In that case the Qur’an cannot be read on any TV channel, in case people with their heads uncovered hear it. But 70%-80% of Turks do not cover their heads. Most women wear plunging necklines in the coastal towns. But I respect and love them all. I value and admire them all. The psychopathic bigots must not be offended by them. What kind of mindset is that? What kind of logic? They are radiant and immaculate Muslims.

Surah Yusuf, 23:

“The woman whose house it was,” who does the woman live with? With the Prophet Joseph (pbuh). “The woman whose house it was,” she lives in the same house as the Prophet Joseph (pbuh). In their eyes, may Allah forbid, the Prophet Joseph (pbuh) sins. Allah says they live in the same house. The woman wanders round normally, uncovered.“She solicited him. She barred the doors and said, ‘Come over here’!” She wants to make love with him.  “He said, ‘Allah is my refuge!” Why does he seek refuge in Allah? He says he will not engage in sexual relations with her. “Because He is my Lord and has been good to me with where I live. Those who do wrong will surely not succeed.”

“She wanted him…,” my forebear, the Prophet Joseph (pbuh) was highly attractive. All the prophets are very attractive. Their beauty has a huge impact on women. The Prophet Moses (pbuh) was the same. That is even in Pharaoh’s inscriptions. Idiots with donkey-minds. Look, they were not able to there. They say; “The scholar and sorcerer Yahuda is very expert in influencing women. It says the Prophet Moses (pbuh) is very expert. Look, they become tongue-tied. They have to admit it. Masha’Allah to the Prophet Moses (pbuh), my forebearer. “The woman wanted him,” because he [the Prophet Joseph(pbuh)] was so attractive. “and he would have wanted her, had he not seen the Clear Proof of his Lord.” Who forbade him to stay in the same room, or to look at her and who forbade adultery, or sexual relations. He saw her and wanted her, but he did not enter into sexual relations. They were in the same place, but he avoided vice and adultery. “That happened so We might avert from him all evil and lust. He was Our chosen servant.”

Surat al-Qasas, 23:

“When he arrived at the water of Madyan, he found a crowd of people drawing water there.” Men and women. “Standing apart from them, he found two women, holding back their sheep.” Bigots would probably have run away. But the Prophet Moses (pbuh) approaches them. “He said, ‘What are you two doing here’?” He wants to help them.  "They said, ‘We cannot draw water until the shepherds have driven off their sheep’.” Because brainless types refuse to go anywhere near them. They recognize high-quality people. What do they say? “You see our father is a very old man’.”

 “So he drew water for them and then withdrew into the shade and said, ‘My Lord, I am truly in need of any good You have in store for me’.”

He desires good.

“One of them came walking shyly up to him...” In their eyes, she had also sinned. Because she approached him. The Prophet Moses (pbuh) approached her, and she him. "My father invites you so that he can pay you your wage for drawing water for us...” They praise him to their father.  “When he came to him and told him the whole story he said, ‘Have no fear, you have escaped from wrongdoing people’.” They say to their father, “He is someone strong and trustworthy.”

How could they know he was strong and trustworthy without seeing him? According to the bigots, they were sinning. The Prophet Moses (pbuh) also sinned. The Prophet Joseph (pbuh) sinned, too. And in their eyes, may Allah forbid, even our Prophet (pbuh) sinned. No. If I and the verses of the Qur’an are in error, let them say so to me. I read a verse and the bigots make not a sound. They even bring me reports from idols. Do not bring me reports from idols. Bring me information from the Qur’an. Do you cite evidence from the Qur’an? No. It always comes from idols. Tell me, “These verses you read are wrong.” But they are true. And you cannot say they are wrong.

Now satan has this trick. He says; “If your head is covered, if you are covered up, you cannot appear on television or go to the shops or to schools.” So do you know where there is freedom? Only in the grave. They have kept women away from Islam and the Qur’an by that method. They have produced thousands of obstacles to women with uncovered heads approaching Islam and the Qur’an. Satan has been really very clever. But I have thwarted satan with his own trick. All women with bare heads are immaculate Muslims. They are all our pure and spotless sisters. They are first class Muslims. So they can relax. The can read the Qur’an as they wish, and read the hadiths and the Risale-i Nur and need never bow to pressure. If we continue in this way them, insha’Allah, we will totally thwart this trickery of satan’s.Because they have made one nation out of bare-headed people and another out of those who cover up. As if they were from different faiths. They have managed to keep bare-headed women away from Islam and the Qur’an. A great many of them. By looking at them with anger and hatred. By developing a terrible hatred for well-groomed and made-up women, they have placed Muslim women, our immaculate nation, in the position of infidels or sinners or bad people. And that is why these bare-headed women feel a great hatred for bigots. A lot of them. A justified hatred has grown up. These people are doing all they can to keep them away from Islam and the Qur’an. But I have embraced them all and called them all to Islam and the Qur’an. At least 70%-80% of Turkish women are bare-headed. But I look out for them all. They are luminous Muslims. I have freed them from the clutches and assaults of the bigots. Well-groomed women who wear make-up are very dear to me. Bare-headed or covered up, they are all luminous Muslims. I have put an end to this trick of satan’s. Satan and the dajjal are squirming now. And I am enjoying watching them. The more we hit them, the more they squeal. We will put an end to this trickery, insha’Allah. There is no room for the way of the Mahdi. The dajjal attacks from two directions. One with Darwinists and materialists, and the other with religious bigots. Not that I have blocked the road ahead of both. Bare-headed women are now reading and listening to the Qur’an and learning about Islam. Their love for Rasulullah (pbuh) is rowing many times over. They are growing in awareness.Look, I read texts from the Qur’an and someone suggests the television should be shut down. What stupidity! I will continue on the true path, insha’Allah.

Many bigots hate well-groomed, bare-headed women. And all well-groomed women with bare heads all loathe the bigots. A great many of them are like that. I am eliminating that strife. I am cleaning out that filth, hatred and stupidity of the bigot mindset, insha’Allah. I take the nation as a whole. Our immaculate young girls are now going to Istanbul University. They go to Boğaziçi University. Modern young women. They are all radiant, immaculate Muslims. All radiant daughters of Muslims. They are immaculate, and can now be at ease.

People are unaware of the hatred bigots feel for well-groomed, bare headed women. But I regard that hatred as corruption and will eliminate it.

Let the fanatics, hypocrites and unbelievers all listen very carefully. Look, in verse 51 of Surat al-‘Ankabut Almighty Allah says,

“Is it not enough for them that We have sent down to you the Book which is recited to them?” What do the fanatics say? “That is not enough,” they say. But Allah says it is enough, yet they say it is not. When asked what they want, they say, “There is one Qur’an, but we have another fabricated one.” “We have ten, a hundred or a thousand times more nonsense,” they. Look, “There is certainly a mercy and reminder in that for people who believe,” Allah says.

Surat al-An’am, 38

The bigots should listen very carefully to this: “We have not omitted anything from the Book.” What do the bigots say? “We don’t believe it. There are many things missing from the Qur’an,” they say. “We could go on about them forever,” they say. So you say, “What must we do?” And they say, may Allah forbid, “We need fabrications, that is what.” They first set up a religion in their own minds. They look and see it is not in the Qur’an. “That is no good,” they say. What is the correct way of doing things? You must look at the Qur’an and live by the religion set out in the Qur’an. But they do not do that. They have established a religion made up of idols. They seek a religion made up of idols in the Qur’an, then when they fail to find it they say, “The Qur’an is not enough.”

“We have not omitted anything from the Book,” Allah says. That comes down like a ton of bricks on the heads of the bigots.

Surat ar-Rum, 58                

Allah says, “We have made all kinds of examples for people in this Qur’an.” Not just some, look, “We have made all kinds of examples.” “If you bring them a Sign...”when you come with the verses of the Qur’an, the deniers will inevitably say, "You are just purveyors of falsehood!” In other words: “You are perverse. You alter the religion. You are destroying Islam.” That is how the unbelievers reply. What do the bigots say? ”You are perverse.” They say, “You are altering the religion.”

Surat an-Nahl, 89

“We have sent down the Book to you making all things clear,” look, a book that explains all things, “as guidance and mercy and good news for the Muslims.”

Allah says, “I have explained all things.” What do the bigots say? “That is no good. You have to have fabrications, as well. We want whatever pours from the mouths of idols. The Qur’an is not enough for us,” they say.

Look what Almighty Allah says in Surat al-Kahf 54, “We have variegated throughout this Qur’an all kinds of examples for people,” Not just one, but “all kinds of examples,” He says.

Surat an-Nahl, 116

Look, Almighty Allah is addressing the bigots again: “…about what your lying tongues describe…” They collect together nonsense and fabrications from their idols and describe it all day and night on the television. What does Almighty Allah say? “…about what your lying tongues describe…” Their fabrications. “Do not say…This is lawful and this is unlawful.” But what do they do? They go on television and say “Everything is unlawful.” “This is lawful, and that is unlawful,” they say. On what basis? Of fabrication. Is that based on the Qur’an? Not at all. Look,“[you are] inventing lies against Allah,” says Allah.  “Those who invent lies against Allah are not successful.” Allah sends them troubles and afflictions and they are beaten down and crushed.

Surat al-A’raf, 32-33

“Say: ‘Who has forbidden the fine clothing Allah has produced for His servants and the good kinds of provision’?” Adornments and beautiful things and everything needed for Muslims to look good, and lawful foods. Who says they are unlawful? The bigot. Does he get that from the Qur’an? No. It is a fabrication. Look, Almighty Allah says: ”associating anything with Allah for which He has sent down no authority,” in other words, thins which are not in the Qur’an. They issue ruling in the name of Allah, they fabricate laws through the mouths of idols. “…and saying things about Allah you do not know.” Hypocrites and bigots go on the television and talk about fabrications on some channels. And looking the nation right in the eye as they do so. Look: “My Lord has forbidden ... saying things about Allah you do not know.” Is it in the Qur’an? No. So where do you get it from? “From idols,” they say. There are two forms of enmity here. Enmity toward the Qur’an and enmity toward the Ahl al-Bayt [People of the House of the Prophet(saas)]. They are secret enemies of the Prophet (pbuh). They have three enmities. But they do not let on.

Surat al-Ma’ida, 87;

“You who believe! do not make unlawful the good things Allah has made lawful for you,” things which please you and taste good. Do not try to conceal these things by saying they are unlawful and do not prohibit them. Do not try to take these blessings away from people or to turn people away from them. “and do not overstep the limits,” says Allah. “If you do this, you are overstepping the limits,” He says.

Surat al-Mu’minun, 70;

I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed satan

 “Or do they say, ‘He is a man possessed’,” What do they say about the prophets? That they are crazy. What did they say about Bediüzzaman? That he was crazy. May Allah forbid! And what will they say about Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)? That he is crazy, too. “Or do they say, ‘He is a man possessed,’ when he has brought the truth to them?” What is the truth? The Qur’an and the commandments in the Qur’an.  “But most of them” the bigots, “hate the truth” says Allah.

Surah Yunus, 15;

“When Our Clear Signs are recited to them, those who do not expect to meet Us...” The bigots are most ignoble and stand up and oppose Allah and speak with a language resembling that of devil. Look - “those who do not expect to meet Us say, ‘Bring a Qur’an other than this one or change it’.” How do they change it. Through fabrications from the mouths of idols. The Qur’an is thus altered for them.

Look, when we go to paradise, our Prophet (pbuh) and the whole Islamic community will be there for us. Almighty Allah will ask our Prophet (pbuh) “What complaint have you about the Islamic community?” Generally speaking, what complaints do you have? Look, one question. Our Prophet (pbuh) will make just one complaint about them:

Surat al-Furqan, 30:

“The Messenger says, ‘My Lord, my people treat this Qur’an as something to be ignored’.”

What has happened? They have all gone along with fabrications alongside the bigots and do not heed the Qur’an. That is what Rasulullah (pbuh) is saying.

Surat ar-Rum, 32:

“…those who split up their religion, and form into sects, each faction exulting in what they have.”

 Allah is referring to the bigots. Look, they split the true faith up into different sects and schools and communities and they are divided among themselves, “form into sects”. They all boast of being the select ones, those who will be saved. Allah wants one single faith. One single community. The Qur’an is addressed to all Muslims. Allah does not address American Muslims separately and Turkish Muslims differently. He addresses all Muslims together when He speaks of believers. All of them. Yet people still say “We are the true Believers.” How many different sets of true Believers can there be? The true Believers in the End Times are the way of the Mahdi. There are no other true Believers according to the hadiths of our Prophet (pbuh). Allah does not desire division. There are sects and divisions now, but that is not of our choosing. We have to put up with the situation until the coming of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). This is the corruption that will be when Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) appears. The faith should not be divided into sects. We put up with it because we have to. But all sects will be done away with when Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) comes. There will be one faith, insha’Allah.

Surat ash-Shura, 13;

“Establish the religion and do not make divisions in it.” Maintain Islam and let there be Islamic Union and let people live by the laws of Islam and do not be divided into sects.“He has laid down the same religion for you as He enjoined on Noah:” Allah is addressing our Prophet (pbuh), “that [the law] which We have revealed to you and which We enjoined on Abraham, Moses and Jesus:” He has made it a law. “What you call the idolaters to follow is very hard for them,” Allah refers to the bigots.“Allah chooses for Himself anyone He wills     and guides to Himself those who turn to Him.”

And these are the community of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), insha’Allah.

Surat al-Qasas, 36;

“But when Moses brought them Our Clear Signs,” when the Prophet Moses (pbuh) came to the bigots of the time, they said, “This is nothing but trumped-up magic. We never heard anything like among our earlier forefathers.”

From the idols they regard as equal to Allah, may He forbid, in other words.  In other words, they say, “Our scholars have never said this. Where did you get it from?”

Surat al-Mu’minun, 68;

“Do they not ponder these words? Has anything come to them that did not come to their ancestors the previous peoples?”

These foolish people do not think, of course. Almighty Allah asks the bigots whether anything came to them that did not come to their ancestors. And they say that it did. They say that fabricated nonsense came to them, and that they follow that nonsense.

(In response to the question “Is it fitting for women to listen to the Qur’an with their heads uncovered?”)

The same old obsession: “Many women here and there listen to the Qur’an being read, listen to you reading the Qur’an with their heads uncovered. Would it not be better not to read the Qur’an?” In summary that is the issue. You are trying to turn people away from the Qur’an. In Turkey, 70% or 80% of women do not cover their heads. The great majority are uncovered at home, at least 90% of them. So fear Allah and pull yourselves together, women must listen to the Qur’an with joy. Do not try to turn people away from the Qur’an. Do not follow satan. Pull yourselves together. They use all kinds of excuses to turn women from the Qur’an. And everyone else. “You cannot understand the Qur’an, not even if you tried for 40 years, so do not read it. Put it in its cover and leave it there.” They have ruined believers by turning people away from the Qur’an. Our Prophet (pbuh) has but one complaint in the Hereafter; “O Lord, this community of mine have abandoned the Qur’an,” he says. İbrahim [addressing the owner of the question], you are also one of this gang. Fear Allah and free yourself from this scourge. Leave it alone.

“Heads uncovered”. You are also trying to get men to cover their heads. “They are also infidels if they do not wear a skull cap,” they say. Women with their heads covered or uncovered all listen easily to the Qur’an. Do not turn people away from the Qur’an. Stop it. You are hurting Islam and the Qur’an.

I am not going to tell my beloved, “Your head is uncovered, so I shall not speak to you about the Qur’an.” That breaks off communications right from the start. That is unacceptable. You must preach with the Qur’an. Our Prophet (pbuh) used to preach in the market of Ukaz with the Qur’an. Did our Prophet (pbuh) say, “Cover your heads first, then I shall read to you from the Qur’an”? Did he? Where do you get this idea from?

If you keep repeating the views on life of unbelievers and fanatics, then you will continue with the same problems, to wade through the same mud. There is a system established by the fanatics. And that system has made Muslims as they are now. Since the fanatics have taken over many key positions they have inflicted disaster on Muslims. You say, let us continue striving in the same way with the system of the bigots. But you will continue suffering afflictions in the same way, then. Allah will continue to afflict you so long as you apply the system of the bigots and the unbelievers. And you will begin struggling through troubles and difficulties, and you will never see the end of them. “Why do we not live like the bigots?” you ask. That is like saying, “Why do we not seek out afflictions?” The fanatics brought about the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. If you continue with the same vile, dark and muddy system, the same problems will repeat themselves. Nothing else is possible. What is the way of the Mahdi? The exact opposite of that. The exact opposite of the bigots’ system. Let us be followers of Hazrat Mahdi (as). Let us return to the time of our Prophet (saas). Let us be Muslims of the Age of Felicity, insha’Allah.

If bigotry prevails, the Islamic community will be ruined. Nothing will be left of Islam, the Qur’an, the faith, Allah or scripture. You are unknowingly serving the dajjal [antichrist], the way of the dajjal. Bigotry is the sword of the dajjal. And bigotry brought down the Ottoman Empire. The reason why Europeans are so uneasy about Islam is again bigotry. Islam is light, beauty, but you have depicted it as a system that terrifies people. You have produced a terrible scourge and corruption. I am trying to clean that corruption up, to clean up what you have soiled.

I describe the essentials. Muslims would be ruined if I were to talk about superstition. Their brains would give way. It is terribly wrong to take up Muslims’ time, weaken them, distract them and provide opportunities for disbelief by talking nonsense. Because that nonsense would then attack Muslims. And Muslims would be at a loss what to say and do. Nonsense provides material for disbelief, day and night. And that nonsense becomes more blatant under disbelief.

The reason for Muslims coming to this state, being so oppressed, is bigotry. Bigotry has made them like this. They have abandoned art, science and reason. It forbids thought. It rejects art. Which means that 1.5 billion Muslims are prisoners and unbelievably oppressed, as everyone knows. Some die of hunger and others are martyred in bombings. Some are martyred through torture, while others are insulted and despised. Muslims are in a wretched state. Most are prisoners. They are fair game for everyone. They go and bomb them, seize their oil, confiscate their belongings and impound their funds overseas. The reason for this is bigotry. Backwardness; there are two kinds of retroactivity. One is when you go back and take what is good from the past, and that is enlightening. Then there is bigotry. A reversion to savageness. Many people have fallen captive to bigotry. I am striving intellectually to eradicate that, to eliminate that mindset. That is the only way we can be successful, insha’Allah.  

We must first prepare the way for the coming of Jesus the Messiah (pbuh). We must eliminate that Christian hatred. We must bring about solidarity between Christians and Muslims. That is essential. It is stressed in the Qur’an. Allah tells us only to debate with them using the most gentle form of words, and to invite them to believe in His Oneness. He tells us to treat them with love, and says we can marry their women. But some people keep talking about butchering them, instead. The bigots take one part of the Qur’an but ignore the other. They take the bit that suits them, but not the bits that don’t. So they try to prepare the groundwork for hatred. Yet Allah tells us in the Qur’an not to hate. He wants us to correct our errors. We must hate their errors, but apart from that, Allah desires no enmity from us. We will all see Jesus the Messiah (pbuh) together. This is a great event of this century, a giant event. People will regard Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) as quite normal, but Jesus the Messiah (pbuh) will astonish them. Because he will be sent back from another dimension by Allah after 2000 years. That is amazing. Of course they will also give Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) his due. But they will say: “America helped. The freemasons helped. The Jews helped. The secret state got involved. He was a very intelligent type. The groundwork was all ready. There was an ideological gap since all ideologies had collapsed. So what was to be done? Of course Islam came to fill it.

 (In response to those who say it is improper for women to appear on television)

If it were up to them, they would not be allowed out on the street, either. Laughing would not be permitted. If we excluded all the supposedly prohibited things, the only permissible thing would be dying. Nothing else would be permissible. That is so very wrong. You have misrepresented Muslims and thus ruined them. Look, that imbecile inflicted terrible trouble on Libya and they duly humiliated him. I watched his last moments on tape. The imbecile brought it all on himself. But if he had listened to me he could have finished the matter with honor. He had the foolishness and craziness of the fanatic, the stubbornness of the fanatic, and Allah inflicted a terrible end on him. The foolishness of the bigot is enormous. Women must be everywhere in life, in Parliament and hospitals, out on the streets and everywhere. Do not be so foolish. Look, let me give an example from the hajj [pilgrimage]. Men and women perform the hajj together. So where do you get that idea from? Bigotry knows no bounds. If you let bigotry take hold of you, it is a bottomless pit. Look where it has got to now. No appearing on television. And what about Parliament? They can’t go there. Can they go to restaurants? No. Or school? No school, either. And what parts of the house are permissible? They will say, “The window must not be too close to the street.” The house must not give onto the street. They must not laugh or talk or move. They want to stop them being human. These psychopathic ideas, the hatred of women of the old pagans and polytheists, are a left-over from former times. But women are everywhere when we look at the Qur’an. The Prophet Joseph (pbuh) and that woman were alone in the same room. He spent his whole life with her. The Prophet Moses (pbuh) talked with the daughters of the prophet, and women liked the Prophet Moses (pbuh). They said he was “strong and reliable.” The Prophet Solomon (pbuh) brought the Queen of Sheba over and played a joke on her, telling her to enter the pool. She got her legs ready, but then realized it was a joke. He was instrumental in the woman coming to have faith. There are many examples in the Qur’an and the hadiths and in life, and you can see it on the hajj. But they are trying to get even further down into the bottomless pit of bigotry and to ruin Muslims even more, as if they have not already done so enough. And there are no such problems on other problems. They have music programs of all kinds. Women appear on them. Most female speakers have low necklines. I have seen that on all channels. They use women in advertising, insha’Allah. There is a video film about that. Can you show it? My apologies to my brothers there. I am not accusing anyone, but I can find no other explanation for why they are not made uncomfortable when watching programs everywhere else. “Why are their heads uncovered?” Do you know what would happen? You could not go out of doors at all. But you go to school and take the bus or the tram, and all the women there have their heads uncovered. The teachers are all uncovered. Seventy percent of Turkey is bare-headed. So what is this logic all about? I really cannot understand it. There are women everywhere. There is no end to them. The people who try to tell us what to do generally watch that kind of channel, and then try to give us advice. Why do women appear on the television? It should not be allowed, they say. There are women on all channels, and you see them everywhere, on the streets and in their homes. You see them in the markets and at the butcher’s shop. What kind of savage thinking is this? If they could, they would put them all into sacks and sew the mouths shut. That is a totally fanatical mindset, and totally mistaken. It is nothing more than jealousy. Because my female colleagues are all very, very attractive, full of love, very classy, whose faces radiate love and passion. But they despise them and look at them as if they were horrible and filthy. It is all envy. They find it very difficult as this is the first time they have seen women looking at them with passion. These are people who have never known love in their lives. No such lovely, high quality women ever appear before them. Because women do not regard such horrible people as worthy of them. They are repelled by them. So why dress up and groom themselves for them? Why treat such horrible men well, such base people? Men who are so utterly stinking and vile? They turn up before these men in the most unkempt state because they regard them as totally unworthy of them. They put up with all that filth because of their money. Of course, there is a huge passion, love and warmth here. They stink, and their wives stink. They are really filthy. They have no idea of beauty and their homes are horrible. They are horrible themselves. They are amazed when they see a life resembling paradise, because they are so used to that particular hell. Because women are genuinely repelled; these men have bad breath and terrible body odor. Everything about them stinks. The women are the same. They turn up just as filthy. They are used to it. And seeing a decent human being takes them aback. They must renounce all that, insha’Allah. Because these people have really lost the thread; they sit in their gloomy homes and look at one another and are mutually repelled. They fight and badmouth one another. They constantly fight and put one another down. A really hellish life. But they look at these other people and see love and friendship and brotherhood. Someone devotes many long years, he graduates and makes money, he buys a house and has more money in the bank, but he is still not happy. He has not found love. He has never found anyone to love him with a passion. But then he looks and everyone here loves everyone else with a passion. It is the first time he sees such passion and love, and it tears at his heart. “I have striven all my life but never seen even a millionth of that love,” he says, “never a millionth of that respect.”

The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) loved women very much, and the power of the Prophet (pbuh) is specially set out in the hadiths. He was a very strong person. His strength and love were very powerful. We see that in Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. The bigots do not like to hear that, but I say it anyway, insha’Allah. All the prophets have had a huge love of women. In proportion to their faith. The more faith a person has, the greater his love of women.  That is how much he loves their beauty, and how much he loves animals. That determines how much he loves beauty and cleanliness. He loves all that is beautiful. In proportion to his faith. But bigots loathe women, and seek to turn them into apes because they detest them. They try to turn them into something disgusting. Bigots dislike pretty women. And Allah dislikes them. He gives them foul women who stink. And they are all disgusted by one another. Both are utterly filthy. Their women are like the wife of Abu Lahab. They all spread filth. Allah sets them up with one another. He gives bad men to bad women, and bad women to bad men.

The bigots cannot even imagine classy, high quality Muslims. It would never cross their minds. They could never dream of that kind of lifestyle. Ataturk was also aware of that, masha’Allah. He spoke of “faithless teachers.” That is a splendid way of putting it. Look, Ataturk had a huge love for genuine religious teachers. But he loathed faithless ones. Base guys like that. He would call them to him and they talked and behaved falsely. They tried to give him a good impression of them. But Ataturk loathed them. Ataturk said a lot about that.

(Regarding the appearance of ladies in burqas in the TV program “Conversations with Harun Yahya” on A9 channel)

The reason why I have these ladies in burqas appear on our TV program is that there is a huge oppression toward these ladies in burqas. In the society, in every corner of the world. There are also lots of people who oppress them. It is also the case in Turkey. They suffer a very ill-natured treatment towards them, both in terms of style and manners. I do it especially to put an end to such kind of treatment, Insha’Allah. That is to say, this is the way we express our love and support towards our sisters in burqa, Insha’Allah. This way, in one way or another, we immediately eliminate any insinuation made at them since in this state there remains no one who would dare to open his mouth, Insha’Allah. That is because you are a very good quality and beautiful people. I also have our sisters with scarves appear on our programs. We assume an attitude that would put a stop to hideous expressions and attacks against scarves. With the quality and beauty [of these sisters], we deal a blow, a spiritual blow, to such evil tongues, Insha’Allah. I especially have ladies with a western looking appearance appear [in our programs], Insha’Allah, for there are also  very mean, bigoted and filthy assaults against them. In order to silence those fools against well-groomed ladies with make-up, I especially have you appear. This way, we teach feelings of love, respect and compassion to those impertinent ones. A great majority of our nation are mature, but there are some churls. We show them that they must behave honestly. There is also a grudge against well-groomed ladies as well as those ladies with scarves and those in burqa.  This is a deadly savagery; there is the bigotry of both sides. I teach to these bone-headed bigots, these churls how to behave decently, Insha’Allah.

“To a certain degree, it is concealed.” “To a certain degree”, Bediuzzaman says. “Missionaries”; Christian Missionaries, those who preach Christianity, clergy, monks, and the followers of the Risale-i Nur have to be very careful. So who has  to be careful? One; missionaries, two; Christian clergy, three; the followers of the Risale-i Nur. “That is because, the movement of the West”; which means, Marxist-Leninist thinking. At the moment there is the terror organization of the PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party), and all sorts of communist movements in the world. Notice that, “The movement of the West”; that is, those who follow Marxist- Leninist thinking, the materialistic thinking, will ally among themselves to disrupt the alliance of Christian missionaries and Islam. That is the alliance of Muslims and Christians. Don’t we see the same feature in today’s bigots? Don’t we see this in the action  of such a bad lot? Those who commit prostitution, the dirt bags , they all struggle to ruin this alliance. Notice that Bediuzzaman informed us this about 70 years ago. Look, “They will struggle to ruin the alliance between Islam and the missionaries.” That is why they say, “Why are you not hostile to the People of the Book?” Why don’t you blaspheme them? Why don’t you curse Christians?

Be very attentive against bigotry. It destroys the state and the nation. Bigotry is very dangerous. The first one is communism, the second one is bigotry. The late [Kemal Mustafa] Atatürk  rendered very great services and he broke the backbone of the bigots. He opened the gate of the system of Hazrat Mahdi (as).

Bigotry has ruined Islam. Such a miserable state of Muslims; a great part of the world, 80 to 90 percent, 99 percent of the Muslims are in devastation. The collapse of The Ottoman Empire is bigotry. What  I say is true. They have  taken artistry, science, beauty from the hands of Muslims. They have  taken civilization and quality from Muslims. When a quality, beautiful understanding of Islam prevails, the entire world embraces it and it will embrace [Islam]. Don’t fall into this trap. They deceived Muslims through superstitions. Satan has ensnared Muslims. They said, “The Qur’an is inadequate; just comply with the superstitions.” And the guys have abided by it. In the Qur’an such a filthy system does not exist. Such a corrupted, messy system is not present in the Qur’an. The guys themselves feel suffocated under this idolatrous system. He is in this system and he is trying to save himself. Don’t do it.

The bigoted types have a terrible hatred for young women. That spread as far as Europe, as we know. But I have cleaned that filth out, I have eliminated that disgrace, that enmity toward women, that hatred of women. I have shown them that they will be loved and respected and that we will all live together. And thanks to me, neither Europe nor America have any tools left they can use on this subject. Otherwise they would have been crushed, though they do not realize it. By Allah’s leave, I have saved them from a terrible scourge. The alleged terror organization Ergenekon would also have ruined them, Europe and America, may Allah forbid. I have stopped many things happening, by Allah’s leave. I have shown the warm, loving, rational and beautiful face of Islam. I love women. Everyone knows I love women very much. But I respect and value them. I am loyal and reasonable and full of respect for them and will not allow them to be repressed or downtrodden. I love them with a powerful love of Allah. I will not allow a hair on their heads to be harmed. I will not allow them to be repressed, and that is what matters. I want them to love Allah and the hereafter. I want them to be bound to Allah with love. They foolishly wish to break off 70% of the nation. They have already broken off from it and now they want me to. But I have a huge love for women, as did our Prophet (saas), and the Prophet Solomon (as), and the Prophet Joseph (as) and Hazrat Hassan (as). I love and value women and regard them as the greatest blessings in this world. And I want them to be well and happy.

The world wants an Islam with no war or conflict. I have spoken with people. They do not want bigotry. They do not want a system where young men and women are oppressed and where nonsense rules.


We need a bright radiance, or clarity of mind. The brain and its functions collapse under pressure. To be replaced by joylessness. And when you have that, it is like computers being deprived of electricity, they are no use, and neither are such people. Some of them take the life out of people. They ban joy. But people have to laugh and relax. Why ban laughter? Let them laugh. They give young girls no room to breathe, they smother them. The laws they have made make women third class citizens. They have stopped being human at all. They portray them as suspicious and untrustworthy beings. But women are really clever and sweet. Where did they get the idea they are better than them from?

The Qur’an is widely renounced in the End Times. Particularly by the bigots. They will say the Qur’an is unimportant, that it is things added on afterward that really count, that abiding by the Qur’an is corruption. Prophets are afflicted by a dajjal. The Mahdi will be troubled by some 30 dajjals. Because there are some 7 billion people in the world. The dajjal will emerge from the bigots and unbelievers. There will be big and small ones, particularly Darwin.


Disbelief looks after the bigots. And the bigots look after disbelief. Their secret alliance is devilish but quite normal. They come together and determine their strategies in dark, secret places.

They have bound Muslims’ hand, mouths and eyes, and then they have set them before disbelief. They have abandoned the words of the Qur’an and our Prophet (saas) regarding earthly desires, and they have adopted nonsense. They have also weakened Muslims by depicting peace and love as bad. They have taken science and art from their hands and turned them against technology. They have thus made Muslims weak. But I am putting that right, insha’Allah.

The dajjal (antichrist) has two horns and two arms. He has one blind eye and one swollen one. The swollen one is bigotry, and the blind eye is atheism, Darwinist and materialist thinking. He has two arms, one is bigotry and the other Darwinist and materialist thinking. That is why he goes arm in arm, hand in hand with Darwinists and bigots. They understand one another very well. The reason why bigots are opposed to Hazrat Mahdi (as) is that they say “he has destroyed our religion.” That religion is bigotry. Hazrat Mahdi (as) is restoring things to how they were in the time of the Prophet Solomon (as). But for bigots, the time of the Prophet Solomon (as) is disbelief, may Allah forbid. If the Prophet (saas) were to appear now they would declare war on him, may Allah forbid. The bigots of the day martyred Hazrat Hussein (as) and Hazrat Hassan (as). Why did they martyr Hazrat Ali (as)? Because he was against bigotry. What did Hazrat Ali (as) say? He said the Qur’an was enough. He said the way our Prophet (saas) set out and applied the Qur’an was enough. What did Hazrat Umar (as) say? He said the Qur’an was enough. That is why he was martyred by the bigots. They rejected nonsense. They said they would only act by the Qur’an and how the Prophet (saas) applied the Qur’an. That is also why the 12 imams (Twelver) were martyred.


A system that is devastating the Islamic world and doing away with art, science, beauty, love, joy and sincerity Islam. And you see they are ruining Muslims because they have taken Muslims’ fundamental strength from them, they have taken away their music, and their science, paintings and art. And they have enslaved and crushed Muslims. They have left them with only the shirts on their backs. I am a plain-speaking, honest and fearless man. They see women with headscarves and you say, “what are you grumbling about?” “Because they are not wearing the full burka” they reply. The headscarf alone is not enough. They have a terrible hatred for women who leave their heads uncovered. Whereas I love them with all my heart. I will protect and watch over them with all my might and will not abandon them to the atheists and irreligious. They are the sweetest things in the world. If they wear the headscarf that is fine, and it is fine if they do not. They are all 100% Muslims, all the jewels in our crown. Our prophet (saas) used to meet women. As he says himself, “there are three things that delight me, the first is prayer, the second is women and the third is pleasant scents.” Why did the Prophet Solomon (as) bring Balkis the Queen of Sheba to his palace? We are striving to resemble the Prophet Solomon (as) and our Prophet (saas). Balkis the Queen of Sheba was a non-Muslim, but she became a Muslim. He welcomed her to the palace and spoke with her alone. They spoke and conversed and discussed matters, and then it appears they wished to marry. Bediuzzaman also says we will achieve the spiritual capture of Istanbul through women, insha’Allah. He says the spiritual conquest will come about through women. Eighty percent of women do not cover their heads. I will not let anyone grumble about that. These people grumble, whereas I love them with all my heart. I embrace them and watch over and protect them and will continue to do so.

Someone stands up and says pictures are unlawful. That is ruinous for Muslims. You cannot strive in the absence of pictures. The Atlas of Creation is full of pictures from beginning to end. Why should pictures be unlawful? They say that Bukhari says so. Wrong. They misinterpret him. They began making pictures of the Prophet Jesus (as) in the time of our Prophet (saas) and to make pictures of our Prophet (saas), and to worship them. Our Prophet (saas) told them to stop. Instead of going off to battle in the days of our Prophet (saas), some people played on the tambourines, and our Prophet (saas) told them not to. But apart from that, why should they be banned? You must not invent your own rules.
